A room's detail page
Click any room on the board to open its detail page — everything about that room's day in one place: today's services, the checklist, stay facts, issues, lost & found, the minibar, and a timeline of what happened.
A room's detail page
Who can access this: Same as the board — the Housekeeping module and Bookings (read). Acting on a task, reporting an issue, or logging a found item needs Housekeeping (update).
The header
Shows the room's name and code, its clean state (Dirty, Cleaning in progress, Clean, Inspected), and today's occupancy (Arrival, Due out, Occupied, Stayover, Turnover, Vacant). Below that: the room type, and either a Section (resort) or Deck (vessel) if one is set. An active block shows as a banner with its type, reason, and end date.
Block room (top right) opens a dialog to put the room out of availability: choose Maintenance, Out of order, or Event, a reason, and a date range. See Rooms & cabins for what each type means for availability.
Today's services
One card per task scheduled for the room today. Each card shows:
- The service plan (e.g. Departure clean, Turndown service) with its own icon and colour, and a status badge (Planned, In progress, Paused, Done, Inspected, Skipped, Cancelled).
- Priority, Carried over (unfinished from yesterday), or Needs review (its booking basis vanished — a supervisor should check it) chips, where they apply.
- Standard time, minutes actually worked once started, and the task's credits.
- Who is assigned — initials and a name per maid, each with their own credit share if more than one maid shares the task — or a coral Unassigned chip.
- The checklist, if the plan has one, with a camera icon on any item that needs a photo and a pen icon on any that needs a signature.
- Action buttons for whatever the task's current status allows: Start, Pause, Resume, Finish, Inspect, Skip, Cancel.
Warning — Do Not Disturb warns, it does not lock. Pressing Start on a task for a DND room asks you to confirm first. Confirming starts the task and writes a timeline entry recording who entered and when — it never blocks you from going in.
Note — a checklist item marked "requires photo" blocks Finish, not the checklist itself. If you try to finish a task while a photo-required item has no photo attached, the card lists exactly which items are still missing evidence.
Add a service today
A row of the room's other available service plans is shown for reference under Add a service today, but adding one from here isn't available yet — the hint under the list says so. Use your existing "manual add" workflow (ask your supervisor) until this control is wired up.
Stay facts
A small grid of facts about the current stay — whatever the booking and guest form contribute (e.g. length of stay, guest count, special requests). If there is nothing to show, the card says so.
Guest requests
Reserved for guest-submitted requests. Nothing populates this list yet, so it will normally show "No guest requests" regardless of what the guest has actually asked for at the desk.
Issues
Lists problems maids have reported against the room — plumbing, electrical, broken furniture, and so on. Report an issue opens a dialog:
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Category | Free text (e.g. "Plumbing", "Electrical"). |
| Severity | Minor, Today, or Blocking. |
| Description | What's wrong. |
Choosing Blocking shows a note that the room will be taken Out of order and — depending on your property's settings — a maintenance record will be created for it (see Settings → Capabilities). If a guest is currently checked into the room, the block is refused but the issue is still saved; you'll see a note to that effect rather than an error.
An open or in-progress issue can be marked Fixed from its row. A fixed issue that created a maintenance record or a room block shows a small link confirming that link exists.
Each row also names who reported it. Gurita takes that from the employee record linked to your login, not from anything you type — so nobody can file a report under a colleague's name. If your login isn't linked to an employee, which is normal for a manager or an administrator account, the report is still saved and simply shows Unknown. To have reports show your name, your user account has to be linked to your employee record — an administrator does that on the user's own page (see Users and access).
Lost & found
Logs items found in the room. Log a found item records a category, description, where it was found, its value (Low, Normal, Valuable), and where it's stored; the system assigns it a tag number automatically. A stored item can be marked Returned or Disposed from its row.
Who found the item is filled in the same way an issue's reporter is — from the employee linked to your login, showing Unknown when there is no link.
This section only appears if your property has Use lost & found switched on — see Settings → Capabilities. If it's off, the card doesn't show at all, but nothing already logged is deleted; switching it back on brings the list back exactly as it was.
Minibar
This section only appears if your property has Rooms have a minibar switched on, and the room's type has a minibar template — see Settings. A room type with no template has no minibar, so nothing appears here and nothing is billed.
Warning — the number you enter is what the guest consumed, never a restock count. Each row shows a Par {n} figure next to the input — that is only the restock target for housekeeping's own reference. The consumed quantity is what gets billed. Entering "what's left" or "what I restocked" instead of "what the guest used" will charge the wrong amount.
Each row shows the product, how much was consumed, the par level, and the price. The total at the bottom is marked advisory — tax is added when the consumption is actually posted to the guest's folio, so the posted amount can be slightly higher than the figure shown here. Once posted, the section shows Posted to folio; before that, Not yet posted.
Re-posting
If a closed task's minibar needs to be posted again (for example, after the original receipt was voided), a Re-post to folio button appears. It always returns a result — never a plain error — and most of those results describe a normal outcome:
Note — "nothing to bill" is not an error. A re-post can come back saying nothing was recorded for the stay, the minibar is switched off, or the item is already posted. Two of the outcomes need action from you, but not on this screen: "This room was shared by more than one booking" and "No booking could be billed" both mean the fix belongs in the booking itself, not in a retry here.
Timeline
A running log of what happened to the room today — assignments, status changes, DND overrides, and so on — newest first, each with who did it and when.
