The Housekeeping board
The board is the daily view of every room's cleaning state: what still needs doing, what is in progress, and who is behind. Open it from the main menu's Housekeeping entry (/housekeeping).
The Housekeeping board
Who can access this: Requires the Housekeeping module and the Bookings (read) permission. Acting on a room (starting, finishing, auto-assigning) needs the Housekeeping (update) permission as well.
Moving between days
Use the ◄ / ► arrows to step one day at a time, the date field to jump to any day, or Today to snap back. The summary line under the title always reads out the selected day's counts — rooms, arrivals, departures, rooms to clean, and blocked rooms.
The KPI strip
Five cards summarise the day at a glance:
| Card | What it counts |
|---|---|
| To clean | Rooms still dirty. |
| In progress | Rooms with a cleaning under way. |
| Clean | Rooms cleaned but not yet inspected. |
| Inspected | Rooms a supervisor has signed off — the highest state a room reaches. |
| Issues | Rooms with an open issue reported against them. |
Note: Clean and Inspected are deliberately separate. Clean means the maid is done; Inspected means a supervisor has checked it. If your property has inspection switched off (see Settings), a finished room goes straight to Inspected and the Clean count stays for rooms genuinely awaiting a look.
Filtering the room list
Chips above the table — All, Arrivals, Departures, Stayover, Issues — narrow the table to rooms matching that day's occupancy movement, or to rooms with an open issue. Each chip shows its own count.
The unassigned-rooms warning
When one or more rooms have an arrival due soon and nobody assigned, an amber banner appears above the table: "{n} room still needs a maid", with the time of the first arrival. It disappears once every room has an assignee. It is advisory only — see Assigning automatically for a faster way to clear it.
The room table
Rooms are grouped — by room type on a resort, by deck on a vessel — with a header showing the group's name, room count, and a three-colour progress bar (ready · in progress · blocked). Each row shows:
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Room | Room name and code. Click it to open the room's own detail page. A blocked room shows its block reason underneath. |
| State | The room's cleaning state: Dirty, Cleaning in progress, Clean, or Inspected. |
| Occupancy | Arrival, Due out, Occupied, Stayover, Turnover, or Vacant for the selected day. |
| Tags | Guest and room facts, in the order the server sends them — see below. |
| Tasks | Every service scheduled for the room today, its status, and who is assigned (or a coral Unassigned chip). |
| Issues | A button showing the count of open issues, if any — click it to jump to the room. |
| Action | The one obvious next step for the room's furthest-along task. |
Tags you'll see
| Tag | Meaning |
|---|---|
| VIP | Guest flagged VIP on the booking. |
| Crib | A crib is set up for this stay. |
| Do not disturb | The room is currently flagged DND — see the warning below. |
| Green stay | Guest opted out of daily cleaning. |
| Linen change | A linen change is due. |
| Late checkout {time} | An agreed late checkout, with the time if known. |
| Due out | The room is due to be vacated today. |
| Service plan name | Which named service (Departure clean, Turndown, …) a task belongs to. |
The next-step button
The action button always shows the single next step for the room's task — Start, Resume, Finish, or Inspect — and calls that action immediately. An Unblock label can also appear on a blocked room, but clicking it does nothing yet: to actually remove a block, open the room record's own Blocked tab (see Rooms & cabins).
Warning — Do Not Disturb warns, it does not lock. Clicking Start on a room tagged Do not disturb asks "This room is marked Do Not Disturb. Continue anyway?" Confirming starts the task anyway and records a timeline entry on the room (who entered, and when) — it never blocks the maid from going in. There is no notification sent; the timeline entry is there so a guest complaint about being disturbed has an answer.
Auto-assign
If you have the Housekeeping (update) permission, an Auto-assign button sits next to the date picker. See Assigning automatically for the full flow.
When there is nothing to show
If no room matches the selected filter and day, the board shows "Nothing to show" instead of an empty table. A load failure shows a retry button rather than a blank page.
