Housekeeping
Housekeeping is a dedicated module for planning and tracking room cleaning: a live board of every room's cleaning state, a weekly plan, automatic task assignment, a phone-friendly view for maids, and the settings that shape all of it — service plans, triggers, credits, and which extra capabilities (maintenance hand-off, lost & found, minibar) a property uses.
It replaces the old Housekeeping tab on the Occupancy planner (see The Occupancy planner) with its own place in the main menu, its own permissions, and a proper unit of work — the task — instead of a single status flag on the room.
Note — this module is rolled out per property. Until your administrator turns on Use new housekeeping board (Settings → Housekeeping → Rollout), the module described in this chapter is not available, and the old Housekeeping tab under Occupancy remains your only way to track room cleaning. See Settings.
Where to find each screen. Housekeeping sits in the main menu under Operations, directly beneath Occupancy — the planner whose Housekeeping tab it replaces. Its entry lists the board, the weekly plan and — for users who may change settings — the settings screen. A room's own detail page opens by clicking a room on the board. A maid sees a single My tasks entry instead, and none of the supervisor screens.
In this chapter
- The Housekeeping board — the day's rooms, KPI counts, filters, warnings, and the next-step button.
- A room's detail page — today's services, the checklist, stay facts, issues, lost & found, minibar, and the room's timeline.
- The weekly plan — seven days of scheduled services, grouped by room, room type, or maid.
- Assigning automatically — four strategies, a preview before anything is written, and what an empty roster looks like.
- The maid view — a maid's own day, one task at a time, on a phone.
- Settings — service plans and their triggers, assignment, timing and credits, capabilities, and the rollout switch.
Who this is for
Front-desk and housekeeping supervisors use the board and weekly plan to see what needs doing and by whom. Maids use the phone-friendly view to work through their own day. Managers use Settings to define service plans, decide how credits are counted, and turn optional capabilities on or off.
Who can access this: Requires the Housekeeping module to be active on your plan, plus Housekeeping (read) for the board, room detail and weekly plan — every action on them additionally needs Housekeeping (update). A maid's own view needs Housekeeping (self) instead. None of these are granted automatically: see the permissions note under Settings → Rollout.
