Activities
An activity is something you sell a guest that is not a room night, not a boat dive and not a transfer: an Open Water course, a marine-park trip, a cooking lesson, morning yoga, island hopping, a spa slot, kids club. Gurita treats the sale and the operation as two separate things — the product carries the price, the activity carries the day, the instructor, the venue and the list of guests who are actually coming.
That separation is the point of the whole chapter. A guest can pay for a course at the counter, in a booking, or through your website, and in every case the sale lands in one place — a list of people who have paid and are not yet on anybody's schedule. Nobody has to remember to write them on a whiteboard.
This chapter covers the catalogue of what you offer, the day board where sessions are planned and staffed, the roster where guests are checked in, multi-session course runs with enrolments and certification, and how a sale at the counter or in a booking turns into a seat.
Boat dive trips are not activities — they stay in Dive plans. A course session that happens on a boat can point at a dive plan, but the two screens remain separate.
Note: Activities belong to the Activities module (Premium). If the menu entry and the Occupancy tab are both missing, either the module is off or your role lacks the Activities permission. See Active modules.
Who can access this: everything in this chapter requires the Activities (read) permission to view and Activities (create/update/delete) to change. There is no separate permission for activity types — one permission group covers the whole feature.
The Activities day board
In this chapter
- Activity types — the catalogue: what you offer, how long it runs, who has to staff it, what gear it needs, and whether it is a course.
- The day board — one property, one day: every session, who is short-staffed, how many seats are gone, and who paid but is not scheduled.
- Planning a session — creating and editing a session, assigning staff over a clash, claiming a venue, and the five session statuses.
- The roster — the guest list: check-in, no-show, extra heads, walk-ins, and printing the sheet the instructor carries.
- Adding participants — the candidates list of guests who have paid, who is leaving soon, and adding an in-house guest with a charge.
- Course runs and enrolments — multi-session runs, the progress matrix, moving a guest, recording a result and certification, cancelling a run.
- Selling an activity — from a booking, from your website, and at the POS counter, plus what a cancellation or a void does to the seat.
- Gear and equipment — per-guest rental gear, the day's gear demand, and why gear never blocks and never charges.
- Reminders and settings — the guest reminder mail, session numbering, the roster print template and who may fill each staff role.
The Activities report lives with the other reports.
