Itineraries, trips & guest lists

In short, a vessel sells in three layers, each with its own page there:

1. Itinerary — the fixed route a boat sails (from port, to port, dive sites). Reusable. See Itineraries.
2. Trip / departure (schedule) — one dated run of an itinerary on a specific vessel; this is what guests book a cabin on. See Trip Dates (schedules) and The Trip Date page & Move cabins.
3. Guest lists / manifests — configurable exports of who is on board. See Vessel lists and Generating and printing lists.

The rest of this chapter — vessels, decks and cabins, cabin types, and prices — is the master data those trips are built on.
