Boat Maintenance
Boat maintenance is now part of the Equipment feature. You still log fuel per boat as before, but a boat's parts are tracked as equipment items and its servicing runs through the same maintenance system as the rest of your gear. This page covers what that looks like on a boat; for the full picture, see Equipment items and Equipment maintenance.
Note: The old Boat Maintenance module has been folded into the Equipment module. If your company had Boat Maintenance switched on, Equipment is on automatically and your old records stay readable. See Active Modules.
On the boat
Open a boat under Dive Boats and use its tabs.
Fuel Log
One row per refuelling/usage entry:

Gurita keeps a running Engine Hours total from these entries (using the highest meter reading if you log one, otherwise adding up Hours Run), shown at the top of the tab. A monthly chart and CSV/Excel export sit below the list. Those engine hours also drive any hour-based maintenance rules on the boat's linked items — you read the meter in one place.
Tip: Fuel Log, Components, and Maintenance are disabled until you've saved the boat once (they need its ID).
Components
The Components tab lists the boat's linked equipment items — its engines, hull, electronics, and safety gear, each a tracked item with its own serial number, status, and service plan. Use Link existing item to attach an item you already track, Create here to make a new one (you pick its product first), or the unlink button to detach one. Unlinking keeps the item — it only removes the link to this boat. See Equipment items.
Maintenance
The Maintenance tab shows one combined list of everything due or done for the boat: its own boat-level tasks and the tasks on its linked items together. Each entry is tagged to show whether it applies to the whole boat or to a linked component (labelled with the item, e.g. "Engine service — Port engine · YAM-0001"). The boat's own recurring maintenance plan rules sit above the list, and each open task carries a Complete button that closes it and rolls its schedule forward.

Note: Service history from before the switch stays visible in a read-only Archive section at the bottom of the tab. Those entries can be read but not edited; new maintenance goes through the system above. Nothing is migrated automatically — re-create ongoing components as products with items and link them to the boat.
Fleet views
- Maintenance across the fleet is now the Equipment page (Master Data → Equipment): a due board plus every item and boat task in one place.
- Fuel & cost statistics stay under Dive → Boat maintenance (
/dive/maintenance): a read-only report of engine hours, fuel used, fuel cost, hours run, fuel per hour, and maintenance cost per boat, with a date-range filter and CSV/Excel export.

Maintenance reminders
Gurita checks daily for maintenance that just became Overdue or Due soon and can send an automatic reminder the first time each task crosses that line:
- Boat maintenance due — for boat-level tasks (unchanged).
- Equipment maintenance due — for the boat's linked items and all other equipment.
Turn either on under Notification settings (both are off by default).
Who can access this: The boat and its Fuel Log use the Dive boats permission and the Dive Log module. Managing the boat's linked components and maintenance records uses the Equipment permission and the Equipment module. The fleet fuel statistics page uses the Dive boats permission.
