Dive Log
Route: /dive/log
This is the full, searchable list of every dive ever recorded — the Dives page in the sidebar. Each row is one dive log entry: date/time, dive type, dive site, the diver(s), the dive guide, and the dive boat used.
To record a dive, click + and fill in:
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Customer(s) | Search and add every diver on this dive — one entry can cover a whole group dive |
| Guide | The dive guide leading it |

| Depth | Maximum depth reached, in metres |

| From / To (or Dive Duration) | Start and end time, or just a total bottom time in minutes, depending on your resort's settings |

| Comment | A short note shown right on the list |
Recording a dive
- Open Dive Log (or click Add dive on a guest in the Dives workspace to start pre-filled with that guest).
- Click + and add every Customer diving together — one entry can cover a whole group dive.
- Pick the Guide, Dive Site, and Dive Type, then set the Depth, Date, and time (or bottom time).
- Add the Dive Boat and any extra Boat crew, if this dive used one.
- If your resort tracks gear, set each diver's Tank Size, Air Mix, and rented equipment chips in the block below the form.
- Click Save, or Create & add another to keep logging dives for the same group without closing the dialog.
Note: With the Shift Plan active, guide and crew choices who aren't rostered for the dive's time are labeled not on shift — saving the dive automatically creates a Requested shift for them.
Tip: By default the customer field only offers guests currently at your active resort, vessel, or dive center — ask an administrator to widen this in the raw Settings list under Configuration if you regularly log dives for guests booked elsewhere.
Per-diver tank size and air mix
If your resort tracks equipment, a second block lets you set Tank Size (e.g. 8L, 11L, 2x 11L, 15L) and Air Mix (e.g. Air, Nitrox) — and an optional comment — separately per diver, since not everyone on a group dive uses the same gear. The exact list of sizes and mixes is configurable per company, and the whole block is hidden for dive types flagged Non dive type.
A dive log entry doesn't reference one specific booking directly — it's tied to the diver (customer) and to the active resort, vessel, or dive center. Gurita matches it to the right booking automatically wherever it's shown (Dive Overview, invoices, print merges) by looking at who was diving and when. Recording dives here is also what feeds the dive statistics report.
Note: Gurita only accepts a dive log for a customer who has a booking (or dive-center visit) covering that date, plus a short grace period after departure — you can't log a dive for a guest who hasn't arrived yet or left long ago. If your company has the raw Takeover dive log to onsite invoice automatically setting turned on (under Configuration), saving a dive also adds its dive type's product to that guest's on-site bill, increasing the quantity for repeat dives of the same type; deleting the dive removes it again.
Note: Certification level, diving organisation, insurance, and dive history are guest details, not dive-log details — if your resort collects them (through a guest form or a custom data field), they live on the guest's Customer profile. See CRM & Customers.
