Stock and availability
A POS sale keeps inventory honest. Products track stock in one of two ways, both managed in Master Data:
- Inventory products carry a counted quantity. Available = quantity on hand − quantity already reserved on open bills.
- Recipe products (made from ingredients, like a cocktail) have no count of their own — their availability is worked out from the linked ingredients, so a drink is "in stock" for as many servings as its ingredients allow.
At the counter this shows up as the tile's stock badge: green N in stock, amber N left when three or fewer remain, and coral Sold out at zero.
- Adding a line reserves one unit right away — the badge counts down live so two staff can't oversell the last one.
- Sold-out products can't be added ("not available"); removing or deleting a line hands the units back.
- On save, the server deducts ingredient stock for recipe products and the counter re-checks availability.
- Whether unavailable or zero-price products appear at all is set by the Show products without stock and Show products with zero price POS settings.
Note: Ingredient recipes and stock levels live under Master Data → Products, Product stock, and Ingredients. See Master Data: products & commerce.
