Setting up areas and tables
If you run the Tables & Floor Plan module, set up your areas (a bar, a restaurant, a pool deck) and the tables inside them once, up front. This drives the live floor plan at the counter.
Who can access this: Requires the POS areas / POS tables permission. Visible when the Tables & Floor Plan module is active.
Areas
Go to POS → Areas (/pos/locations). Each area has:
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Name | Required. e.g. "Beach Bar" or "Main Restaurant". |
| Sort | A number that controls the order areas appear in on the floor plan. |
| Active | Inactive areas are hidden from the counter but kept on record. |
| Colour | An accent colour for the area's header on the floor plan. Pick a preset swatch or type a hex value; clear it with the small ✕. |
| Comment | Free text for your own reference. |
Use Copy on a row to duplicate an area as a starting point for the next one.

Tables
Go to POS → Tables (/pos/tables). A dropdown above the list filters tables by area. Pick the area the table belongs to, then set:
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Area | Which area the table sits in. Fixed once the table is created. |
| Name | The table number or label, e.g. "12" or "Cabana 3". |
| Seats | How many people it holds (shown on the floor plan). |
| Sort | Order within the area. |
| Active | Hide the table without deleting it. |
Use the Copy action to duplicate a table when you have many similar ones.

Warning: You can't delete an area or table while it still has open receipts on it — settle or move those first. Deleting an area is also blocked while it still contains tables.
Building the table map
The counter's live floor plan (see The floor plan) is drawn straight from this setup — there's no separate "designer" to lay out:
- Areas become the zones, ordered by their Sort and tinted with their Colour.
- Tables become cards inside their area, ordered by their own Sort, each showing its Seats and any open receipts.
- Only Active areas and tables appear at the counter.
Set the Sort numbers to mirror your real layout (front to back, left to right), and the floor plan will read like the room. Reservations are added later at the counter, not here.
