Commission rules define how much an agency earns on the bookings it sends. The commission reduces what the agency owes you (and can be held as Agent Credit), and the commission amount is calculated automatically on every booking from that agency.

Each commission has a Name, a Status (draft or active), and:

Setting	What it does
Default Value	The commission rate or amount applied by default.
Rounding type	How the calculated figure is rounded.
The price of the commission can be changed in the operation	Lets staff override the commission on an individual booking.
Exclude from Tax	Leaves commission out of tax calculations.
Is available to get used by Agency	Makes this commission selectable for agencies.
Rules	What the commission applies to: Cabin/Room Prices, Product, Product Category, Manual Costs, or Supplements.

You can also set the wording and label shown on documents, using the offered variables (type, value, price, base price).

How commission reaches a booking (worked example)

Assign a commission to an agency as its standard, active commission, and Gurita applies it automatically to every booking that agency sends. It appears as its own line in the booking's price breakdown, reducing what the agency owes you.

Say Agency Blue Reef is set to a 10% commission on Cabin/Room Prices. They book a room for €1,000: Gurita adds a −€100 commission line, so Blue Reef's payable becomes €900. If Exclude from Tax is on, that €100 is left out of the tax base; if the commission is editable, a clerk can override the €100 on that one booking. And if Blue Reef has already paid the full €1,000, you can keep the €100 difference as Agent Credit for a future booking.

Note: a commission that is still referenced by a booking cannot be deleted. Set it to draft instead if you want to retire it.
