All Banks
Route: Finance → All Banks (/bank/list)
A bank in Gurita is any account or till that holds money: a real bank account, a cash box, a card terminal's settlement account, or an online wallet. Every payment ultimately belongs to one of these. This page lists them with their balances.
All Banks list with balances
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Asset | Which property this account belongs to. "All" means it is shared across every asset. |
| Name | Your label for the account, e.g. "Main EUR account" or "Reception cash". |
| Currency | The account's currency. A multi-currency account also shows a broadcast icon. |
| BIC/SWIFT, IBAN | Bank identifiers, for real bank accounts. |
| Closing Balance | The balance from the last statement you imported. If it differs from the figure Gurita worked out, the Calculated Balance is shown in brackets. |
| Last Import | When a statement was last imported into this account. |
Use the clipboard icon on a row to jump straight to that account's payments.
Creating or editing an account
Click Create (or open a row to edit). The important fields:
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Name | Required. How the account appears everywhere else. |
| Type | Standard for a normal account you import statements into, or Wise to sync entries automatically from a Wise account. |
| Key | Only for Wise accounts — the connection key that links Gurita to Wise. |
| BIC/SWIFT, IBAN, Number, Account ID, Reference | Account identifiers. IBAN is required. |
| Multi Currency | Lets the account hold entries in more than one currency. |
| Currency | The main currency. Set once at creation and locked afterwards. |
| Default for bank for payments | Pre-selects this account when staff record a payment. Set it on your main account. |
| Asset(s) | Limit the account to specific properties, or leave empty to share it across all. |
Below the form, an existing account shows three read-only balances: Old Account Balance (opening), New Account Balance (closing, from your last statement), and Calculated Balance (opening balance plus every entry Gurita holds). When the closing and calculated figures match, the account is reconciled.
Note: a Wise account has a Refresh button that pulls the latest transactions on demand. Standard accounts are filled by importing a statement file (see below).
Reconciling an account
Reconciling proves that the money Gurita has recorded matches the money the bank says you hold. The three read-only balances are the tools:
- Old Account Balance — the opening figure, from before your first imported statement.
- New Account Balance — the closing figure on your most recent statement.
- Calculated Balance — the opening balance plus every entry Gurita currently holds for the account.
When New Account Balance and Calculated Balance are equal, the account is reconciled: every statement line is present and nothing is doubled up. If they differ, an entry is missing or duplicated — import the missing statement, or hunt for the gap in All Payments. On the account list a mismatch is flagged by showing the Calculated Balance in brackets next to the closing balance.
Tip: when you import a CSV you can tick Set account balance manually and type the statement's opening and closing figures, so Gurita checks its own total against the bank's for that import.
Recording a manual entry
Sometimes money moves without a statement line you can import — a correction, or a transaction your bank feed missed. Open the account and click Create in its entries panel, then set the Date, Value (negative for money out), Currency, and a Reference. The entry joins the ledger and can be matched to a booking like any other.
Warning: a manual entry is only a record inside Gurita — it does not move real money. Use it to mirror something that genuinely happened on the account, never to invent income.
Who can access this: requires the Banks permission (view). Creating and editing accounts need the create/edit level. Visible when the Bank module is active.
