What a folio is
A folio is a guest's bill for one booking. Every charge that belongs to the stay — room nights, extras, board, discounts, taxes — sits on the folio, and every prepayment or deposit is subtracted from it. The folio is where you see, at a glance, what the guest owes and what they have paid.
Open a booking and choose the Folios tab.

The booking's full list of charges (the Calculation tab — see Bookings) is always the master record. A folio never changes those charges; it only references portions of them. That means you can bill one booking on several separate invoices without ever double-charging.
You do that with multiple folio cards. Each card is one invoice, addressed to one recipient, for a chosen set of charges. Typical reasons to use more than one card:
- Split a room between two guests who each want their own invoice.
- Bill the room to a travel agency but the extras (drinks, dives, transfers) to the guest.
- Issue a partial invoice now and the rest later.
Note: Folios split the prepayment bill — the part the guest settles in advance or by invoice. Charges that guests pay at the property (the on-site bill, most POS charges billed to the room) and anything marked free of charge are handled separately and never appear on a folio.
Who can access this. Requires the Bookings (read) and Folios (read) permissions, plus at least one Folios action permission — create, edit, issue, or delete — to open the tab. The tab is visible only when the Folio feature is switched on for your company (Settings, see Settings & Administration), the booking is Option / Hold, Confirmed, or Cancelled, and you are signed in as a property user (not an agency login).
