The left sidebar

The sidebar is your main menu, grouped by area of the business — see Introduction to Gurita for the full list of areas, what each needs, and which chapter covers it. This section covers how the menu itself behaves.

Expanding and collapsing groups

Below a handful of fixed shortcuts at the top (Dashboard, Booking, and — depending on your asset and modules — Trip Dates, Calendar, Occupancy, Dive Center or POS), the rest of the menu is organised into collapsible groups: Finance, Dive, CRM, Master Data, Report and Settings. Select a group's name to expand it and reveal its pages; select it again to collapse it. Some entries expand a second time into their own list — inside Master Data, for example, Vessels opens into Cabins, Decks and Bed Types.

What you see depends on your modules and permissions

Every shortcut, group and page in the sidebar checks two things before it shows itself: does your company have the matching module switched on, and do you hold the matching permission. Turn off the Dive Log module and the whole Dive group disappears; without the Bookings permission, Booking, Trip Dates, Calendar and Occupancy disappear too, even with the modules switched on.

Tip: If a page you expect to see is missing, ask an administrator to check the module under Settings → Active Modules and your role — see Settings & administration.

Shortcuts to saved filters

In the CRM and Agencies areas, administrators can define named filters once (for example, "VIP guests" or "German-speaking agents"). Once defined, each one shows up as its own extra shortcut under that group, so your team can jump straight to that filtered list. See CRM and customers.

On phones and tablets

On a narrow screen the sidebar hides behind the menu icon at the top-left to leave room for the page; tap it to show or hide the menu. On a desktop or a wide tablet, the sidebar stays open all the time.

The sidebar picks that open-or-closed starting state from your screen width when the page loads. If you resize an already-open browser window afterwards, it keeps whatever state it started in — reload the page, or tap the menu icon yourself, to match the new width.
