Search
The box in the middle of the top bar searches your live data as you type (its placeholder lists what it covers). Type at least three characters; matching results appear underneath, grouped by type — select one to jump straight to it.

Results drop into a menu below the box with a heading above each cluster of matches — Customer, Booking, Agency, Trip Date, Room — for whichever record types found something; a type with no matches simply doesn't get a heading. The headings are labels only, not links, so selecting one does nothing.
Tip: The placeholder text itself only hints at Customer, Booking, Agency and (for Liveaboard companies) Trip Date — the box also matches Rooms by name, even though the hint doesn't mention it.

Who can access this: Staff accounts only. The agency portal, guest club and public booking pages don't show a search box.
Quick create (+)
Select the + icon to jump straight into creating one of the record types you use most, without opening its list page first. The menu only lists entries you're allowed to create.

Each entry checks its permission and, where listed, its module together — Create Booking appears as soon as either the Resort or Liveaboard module is active, while Create Trip Date and Create Itinerary specifically need Liveaboard. Missing either one simply removes that entry from the menu, the same way it would disappear from the sidebar.

| OTA Errors | A red badge with a number: how many bookings from an online travel agency or channel need attention. Select it to open that list. Only appears with the OTA module switched on, for staff with booking permissions. |
| Language | Your current language (for example EN). Select it to pick another of the languages your company has enabled. Only appears when more than one is enabled. |
On smaller screens
A few top bar elements adapt on a phone or a narrow tablet:

The search box, Create (+) menu and language switcher keep working the same way at any screen size — they just take up less room.
The profile menu
Select your avatar (top-right) to open your account menu.

| Select Asset | Opens a dialog to switch properties — a second way to reach the asset switcher above. |
| Profile | Opens your personal profile: name, email, phone, password, notification preferences and display settings (language, currency, zoom level). |
| Switch Account | Lets specific roles temporarily act as another staff member, after confirming that person's password. Only shown if your company has turned it on. |
| Refresh Data | Clears Gurita's locally stored data and reloads — useful if the app seems stuck showing old information. Switches to an "install the newest version" option instead when an update is ready. |
| Logout | Signs you out and returns you to the login screen. |
When Switch Account is available, selecting it opens a card for each eligible colleague at your current property, showing their avatar, name, email and account type. Select a card, then type that person's password (not your own) to confirm — Gurita then reloads the exact page you were on, now acting as them.
Warning: If the password doesn't match, Gurita signs you out completely and sends you back to the login screen rather than letting you try again. Sign back in with your own account.

Notifications
Gurita doesn't put a notifications bell in the top bar. Recent activity — new bookings, guest-form confirmations, payments received and similar events — appears instead in the Notifications panel on your Dashboard. Choose which of those events you personally want to see under Profile → Notifications in the menu above.
