System requirements
Gurita runs in a web browser. There is nothing you have to install on your computer, tablet or phone, and every screen in this guide works the same way whichever device you open it on. Optional companion apps for diving, housekeeping and the POS are described in Apps and downloads. This page lists the browsers and devices that Gurita is built and tested for, so you can pick the right one for the front desk, the POS counter or the jetty.
Who can access this: This page applies to every signed-in user and to guests using the online booking widget or guest forms.
Fully supported
These combinations are tested before every Gurita release. If something does not work here, report it and it will be treated as a priority.
| Device | Operating system | Browser |
|---|---|---|
| Windows PC or laptop | Windows 10 or newer | Chrome or Edge, current or previous version |
| Mac | macOS 13 or newer | Chrome, Edge or Safari, current or previous version |
| iPad | iPadOS 16 or newer | Safari, in the browser or added to the Home Screen |
| iPhone | iOS 16 or newer | Safari, in the browser or added to the Home Screen |
Tip: On an iPad or iPhone, open Gurita in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. Gurita then opens full-screen like an app, which is the best setup for check-in, the POS counter and the dive manifest at the jetty.
Supported
These combinations work and are kept working, but they are not part of the release checks. Layout may switch to the compact single-column view on smaller screens.
| Device | Operating system | Browser |
|---|---|---|
| Windows PC, Mac or Linux | Any current release | Firefox, current or previous version |
| iPad or iPhone | iOS 16 or newer | Chrome, Firefox or Edge for iOS |
| Android phone or tablet | Android 10 or newer | Chrome, Samsung Internet or Firefox, current or previous version |
Not supported
- Internet Explorer and the old Edge that shipped with Windows before 2020.
- iPhones and iPads that cannot update beyond iOS 15, and Android devices below Android 10.
- Opera Mini, UC Browser and similar data-saving browsers.
- Any browser with JavaScript or cookies switched off. Gurita needs both to sign you in and to keep your session.
Screen size
Gurita adapts to the width of the window rather than to the type of device.
| Window width | What you get |
|---|---|
| Under 600 px (phones) | One column at a time. Tables become cards, and page actions move into a ⋮ menu. |
| 600 to 959 px (small tablets, phone in landscape) | Compact layout. Tab bars scroll sideways. |
| 960 to 1263 px (tablets, small laptops) | The left sidebar collapses to icons and opens on demand. |
| 1264 px and wider (desktop) | The full layout with the sidebar always visible. |
The smallest screen Gurita is designed for is a 360 × 640 px phone. A desktop or a landscape tablet is recommended for the booking wizard, the occupancy board and the calendar views.
Good to know on iPad and iPhone
- Documents open instead of downloading. Invoices, vouchers and other PDFs open in a new tab, from where you can share or save them with the usual iOS controls.
- The rich-text editor is hidden. Formatted text fields, such as mail templates, are edited from a desktop browser.
- Pinch-to-zoom is turned off so that taps on the POS counter and the check-in screens land where you expect. Use the browser's text-size setting if you need larger text.
