Embed the widget
Embed a Gurita booking widget on any website by pasting the snippet from its Code box. The snippet adds an iframe that points at your widget and a small script that keeps the iframe exactly as tall as its content.
Get the snippet
- In Gurita, open Master Data → Booking Widgets → Booking Widgets and edit the widget.
- Make sure its Status is Active — an inactive widget address redirects to your Gurita home page.
- Copy the snippet from the Code box at the bottom of the form.
- Paste the whole snippet into your page's HTML where the booking form should appear.
What the snippet contains
The generated snippet looks like this (with your address and slug filled in):
html
<script src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/@iframe-resizer/parent@5.3.0/index.umd.js"></script>
<iframe id="gurita-iframe-main" name="gurita-iframe-main"
src="https://YOUR-DOMAIN/widget/main"
width="100%" height="600" frameborder="0" border="0" allowtransparency="true"
loading="lazy" style="width: 100%; overflow: hidden;" scrolling="no" title="Online booking"></iframe>
<script>
iframeResize({
license: 'GPLv3',
checkOrigin: false,
waitForLoad: true,
}, '#gurita-iframe-main' );
</script>- The iframe loads
https://YOUR-DOMAIN/widget/<slug>. It starts at 600 px high. - The resizer is the open-source iframe-resizer library. The widget loads its matching child script itself, so the iframe grows and shrinks with the booking steps and never shows an inner scrollbar.
Tip: Always copy a fresh snippet from Gurita rather than editing an old one by hand. The resizer version is set in the widget's configuration (Resizer version), and the parent and child scripts must match.
Choosing the language
The widget picks its language from the guest's browser. To force one — for example on the German version of your site — add lang to the iframe address:
html
<iframe … src="https://YOUR-DOMAIN/widget/main?lang=de" …></iframe>Use a language code your Gurita system supports, such as en or de. An unsupported code is ignored.
Before you go live
- Use open on the widget card to try the widget on its own, and run through a full test booking.
- Make sure your website's domain is on the allow-list, or the browser refuses to show the iframe. See Allowed sites & troubleshooting.
- Check the page on a phone — the widget is responsive, but your page layout around the iframe must give it the full width.
Things to know
- The widget is public. Anyone who can open your page can use it; guests don't need a Gurita login.
- Privacy: the widget sets a cookie to count visits for the widget Statistics. If your site asks visitors for cookie consent, include the widget in your cookie notice.
- What it sells is set in Gurita. The widget's Type, Design and Filter decide what guests see — there are no URL parameters for that.
