The timeline calendar, Folios, and a brand-new POS
The summer finale — and the heart of Gurita gets reimagined. Every feature below links to its guide page, so your team can go from "what's new" to "how do I use it" in one click. (Covering June 30 – July 13, 2026.)
What's new
- The Occupancy Timeline — the booking calendar gets a drag-and-drop timeline view: every room in a row, every day in a column, all bookings on one screen. Drag a booking to another room or date, drag its edge to extend the stay, zoom from bird's-eye to detail view, search as you type, go fullscreen at the front desk. Switch anytime with the Timeline / Classic button — your choice is remembered per device. (Occupancy Timeline module.)
- Folios: split invoices your way — company pays the room, guest pays the bar, agency covers the transfer? On the booking's new Folios tab, drag charges onto separate folio cards — or assign everything for a guest in two clicks — and issue each folio as its own invoice. Totals always match the booking, invoice numbers stay gap-free, and an issued folio is frozen for good: voiding keeps the number and a snapshot, needs a reason, and you simply re-issue. Start with what a folio is.
- A brand-new Point of Sale — a redesigned, touch-friendly counter with a floor plan of your tables that speaks in colors: green for open bills, amber when a table's been open over an hour, coral for reservations. Split a bill in seconds, move items or whole bills between tables, and Charge to room settles the balance straight onto the guest's booking. Card payments can add your card fee automatically, receipts print directly to 80 mm thermal printers, and the built-in Items Sold report exports to CSV. It's opt-in per property — look for "Use redesigned POS counter (beta)" — and areas & tables are set up under POS → Areas and POS → Tables. (Tables & Floor Plan module.)
- Ingredients & recipes — under Master Data → Ingredients, track kitchen and bar stock the way it actually works: purchases land as batches and are drawn oldest-first (FIFO), with expiry, allergens, preparation-loss percentages, and minimum-stock levels. Build recipes on a product's Recipe tab and Gurita shows a live "Can produce" count; in the POS each recipe product carries a stock badge and selling past zero is blocked. The consumption report even shows your cost of goods sold.
- Boat maintenance & fuel log — every dive boat gets Fuel Log and Maintenance tabs: log fuel and engine hours, plan work by due date or engine hours (whichever comes first), and watch for the Due soon chip — it appears within 7 days or 10 engine hours of a deadline. A fleet overview compares engine hours, fuel per hour, and maintenance cost per boat, with CSV/Excel export. Tip: switch on the "Maintenance due" notification — it's off by default.
- The Plugin Shop — all integrations and payment providers now live in one place under Settings → Plugins, with Discover and Installed tabs and honest status pills: Connected, Needs authorization, Error, or Off. And on Settings → Active Modules you switch individual Gurita features on or off — switching off hides menus but never deletes your data.
- 你好! Gurita in Chinese — Chinese joins the language family; every user picks their own interface language via the globe menu.
- Transfers, part two — under Master Data → Transfers, manage your Cars, Stops, and reusable Route templates: apply a template and the whole multi-stop route drops into a transfer in one go. Link a transfer product to a default route and a booking line becomes a planned transfer with one click; overlapping transfers can be merged into a single run.
- HighLevel stays sync — your guests' stay history now syncs to HighLevel alongside their contacts: enter your access token and location ID, hit Provision schema, and stays flow automatically as bookings are confirmed, changed, or cancelled.
- Secure card viewing — view credit cards from channel bookings through a secured vault page; the card data never touches Gurita.
Improved & fixed
- Xero, upgraded — refunds now sync as credit notes, contacts sync more completely, webhook notifications are cryptographically verified, and reconnecting uses cleaner, minimal permissions. Remember to set your sales, payment, and refund account codes in the plugin settings.
- In-house guests at a glance — a clearer in-house guests card, plus proper handling of day guests.
- Security hardening — a dedicated patch series across the whole platform.
- More import options for switching properties, and improved email delivery (TLS) for self-hosted mail servers.
